FOREIGN CAPITAL REGISTRATION AND REMITTANCE

All foreign capital entering Brazil must be registered with the Central Bank of Brazil, this registration is essential for future remittance of profits abroad and capital repatriation, for example.

The registration of foreign capital must be carried out through the RDE Module – IED (Electronic Declaratory Registration – Foreign Direct Investment), which is part of the Central Bank Information System – Sisbacen.

In general, there are no limitations on the distribution of profits and their consequent remittance abroad. Remittances related to profits must also have their destination registered in the RDE Module – IED.

Brazil has signed treaties to avoid double taxation with the following countries: South Africa, Germany, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, China, South Korea, Denmark, Ecuador, Slovakia, Spain, Philippines, Finland, France, Hungary , India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Norway, Netherlands, Peru, Portugal, Czech Republic, Russia, Sweden, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, Ukraine and Venezuela.
